Hello everybody! It's me, Hermana Lewis! I've survived the first three weeks of the mtc! Wahoo! I finally feel like I've gotten into the swing of things, but pretty soon I'll be off to Chile! It's true what they say, the days feel like weeks and the weeks feel like days! But so far, I love it here in the mtc and I can definitely feel the Lord helping me through it! My companion is Hermana Kister and she is so sweet! She is also from Bountiful, but went to Bountiful High. Luckily we have a similar opinion about Bountiful High, so we get along great! We have lots of fun together and both love talking and eating way too much! It's a blessing and a curse. Speaking of food, it's not too bad here at the mtc! I'm a little leary of the meat here because on the first day they served us hamburgers that we now like to call "floppy burgers". If you threw them on the floor they would bounce back and hit you in the face! But other than that the food is pretty good!
The Spanish is slowly coming, but sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. I definitely still sound very gringa, but at least I'm trying! I love my teachers and they believe in us so much. They always say that we are "casí Latinos" even though we know they are lying! Anyways, I already feel like I have grown so much since being here. The Spirit is so strong here and I know the Lord is watching over us. I have become so close with my district and I'm already so sad that I'll have to say goodbye. Thank you for all of the love and prayers! I miss you all so much and hope you are doing well!
